Move over, Ariel! The ladies of The Real Housewives of New York City dress up as mermaids but are mistaken for drag queens (probably not for the first, or last, time) in this epic episode. Kristen Taekman, Sonja Morgan, LuAnn de Lesseps and Heather Thomson all hit the Brooklyn boardwalk in wild style as they support Carole Radziwill, who’s been crowned queen of Coney Island’s annual Mermaid Parade. “The Mermaid Parade is one-of-a-kind; there’s a great eclectic mix of sweet little kids, camp and drag queens, with a really strong message about family,” says Carole. “I first went six years ago with my friend, [Noah director] Darren Aronofsky, who grew up in Coney Island. I became so enamored with mermaids that… I bought my first mermaid skirt, a gorgeous sea green sequined Moschino. I just had a feeling that one day I was going to be the Mermaid Queen!” Meanwhile, Aviva Drescher heads to upstate New York to see if she can confront her biggest fear – the machine that destroyed her leg when she was a child!

NYC Housewives: The Most Shocking Season Ever!

The manicures – and the insults are sharper than ever as The Real Housewives of New York City come back for a stunning season six
Sonja Is Still The Party Queen
Sonja Morgan has always been the most fun-loving Housewife, but this season her carousing reaches a breaking point: In an upcoming episode, she passes out after a night of partying. Sonja laughs it off, saying she just didn’t want to miss a good time. “The other girls went home to eat dinner and I stayed to go to Siro’s and drink tequila shots,” she tells OK!.” “Everyone who’s anyone goes to Siro’s. I wasn’t going to miss that.”
Heather’s The Center Of It All
Opinionated Heather Thomson continues this season to be the Housewife everyone turns to for approval. “I think I’m like the nucleus,” she tells OK! of her role on the show. “I have a relationship with everybody. I’m not really the catalyst, but I definitely have a reaction to the choices people make on the show.”
Ramona Is Headed For A Split
After the ladies wrapped this season, Ramona Singer dropped a bombshell: She and hubby Mario are divorcing after 22 years of marriage. And careful viewers should be able to pick up on the marital-discord. Mario even hints at the problem – his infidelity. “The best cheaters are the ones who get away with it,” he says in an upcoming episode.
Everyone’s Jealous of Kristen
The youngest of the Housewives, new cast member Kristen Taekman has inspired some serious envy, according to one castmate. “A true beauty is always threatening, isn’t she?” suggests Heather. “She’s gorgeous.” But Kristen tells OK! she has come through her first season just fine: “I definitely came away with some new friends,” she says.
Carole Is Ready For A Fight
There’s something about Carole Radziwill that just seems to invite conflict – remember last year’s book party? – but this year she’s feuding with Aviva. She’ll just say anything,” accuses Carole. “Make it up. Lie.” But Aviva’s not backing down, accusing Carole of being self-centered. “To her, the world is the Carole show,” says her co-star.
The Claws come Out For Aviva
Heather has read her the riot act. And she spends much of this season clashing with Carole. Is Aviva Drescher the Housewives everyone loves to hate? “Well, it’s no secret Carole and I are foes – and we had a big problem this season,” Aviva tells OK!. “But I deal with the drama. I have always had an ‘I don’t care what people think about me’ attitude,” she says with a shrug.
Tune in: RHONYC airs Tuesdays at 9PM ET on Bravo.

The claws come out!
Cougar on the prowl! Sonja Morgan’s dating life is the talk of the town on the season six premiere of The Real Housewives of New York City. Of particular interest? Fifty-year-old Sonja’s blossoming bond with Ben Benalloul, a real estate agent who, at 24, is less than half her age! The other Housewives seem bemused by the romance. “I didn’t know whether Sonja was dating him or adopting him, but I’m really happy for her!” Carole Radziwill notes wryly after Sonja shows up to a party with Ben. At that same party, Sonja also gets jealous when Ben talks to ex-model Kristen Taekman, 36, who turns out to be the new RHONY cast member. Sonja’s relieved to find out Kristen’s married to the founder of eBoost energy drinks – and it’s fun to see this newcomer’s first impressions of the kooky cast. Of Ramona and Sonja, Kristen quips: “These two seem like my crazy drunk aunts!” but also observes, “If this is how they are with friends. I do not want to be their enemy.” She’s learning fast!

Old and new blood alike keep this long – running edition fresh – and funny
Here’s to the ladies who lunch! After another round of cast tweaks, Bravo has assembled a winning group of wealthy, drama-prone women who amuse without grating on the nerves. As season 6 opens, pinot aficionado Ramona Singer (she and LuAnn de Lesseps, not appearing part-time are the only veterans left) is still furious with outspoken amputee Aviva Drescher. Their face-to-face meeting, during which Drescher asks for forgiveness for calling Singer “white trash” last season, is both heated and heartwarming. But fear not, Housewives devotees: Cattiness still reigns. Saucy new cast edition Kristen Taekman, a model and entrepreneur, rightly likens Singer and boozy sidekick Sonja Morgan to “crazy, drunk aunts.” And, after meeting 50-year-old Morgan’s handsome new boyfriend (age: 23!), the ever-wry Carole Radziwill observes. “I don’t know if she was dating him or adopting him.” More bitchy quips, please. (Bravo, 9 p.m.)
What’s Coming Up on The Real Housewives of New York City?!
Amanda Simon, StarMagazine.com
The Real Housewives of New York City returned this week for Season 6 — but that was just the beginning! OK! Magazine got the scoop on what’s coming up for the ladies of the Big Apple this season.
Is Aviva the Housewife everyone loves to hate this year?! She spends much of Season 6 clashing with Carole, after being read the riot act by Heather. “Well, it’s no secret Carole and I are foes — we had a big problem this season,” she told OK! ”But I deal with the drama. I have always had an ‘I don’t care what people think about me’ attitude.”
A lot of Carole’s storyline this season will revolve around her feud with Aviva, and she shared her side of things with OK!, as well. “She’ll just say anything,” Carole dished. “Make it up. Lie.”
For Season 6, Heather continues to be the glue that holds the group together, as the woman everyone else turns to for approval. “I think I’m like the nucleus,” she admitted to the mag. “I have a relationship with everybody. I’m not really the catalyst, but I definitely have a reaction to the choices people make on the show.”
As the show’s newest (and youngest) cast member, Kristen has a lot to prove this season. However, she told OK! that she got through it just fine. “I definitely came away with some new friends,” she revealed.
Shortly after the ladies finished filming Season 6, Ramona revealed that she and her husband, Mario, were divorcing after 22 years. While this means we won’t see the split play out just yet, viewers should be able to pick up on some signs that the worst is yet to come. “The best cheaters are the ones who get away with it,” Mario foreshadows in an upcoming episode.
Sonja will keep up her reputation as the party queen this season, but one night, things go a little too far when she passes out after a night of partying! “The other girls went home to eat dinner, and I stayed to go to Siro’s and drink tequila shots,” she admitted, laughing it off. “Everyone who’s anyone goes to Siro’s. I wasn’t going to miss that.”
Sonja Morgan Gets “Ramotional” Discussing Ramona Singer Friendship
Nicole Eggenberger, UsWeekly.com
Rallying behind Ramona Singer! After the Real Housewives of New York City star filed for divorce from husband Mario in January, her fellow Bravo costars have been showing her support. On Watch What Happens Live Tuesday, March 11 — following the Season 6 premiere of RHONYC — Singer’s BFF Sonja Morgan got a little emotional while discussing their friendship.
“What is your all-time favorite Ramona moment?” an audience member asked Morgan, 50.
“Oh, gosh. We have so many,” the reality star said. “I don’t know. We are like sisters now. I’d say St. Barts when she’s by my side and we’re just going crazy on the yacht, and our swimsuit times.”
“Are you getting emotional right now?” host Andy Cohen asked.
“I’m getting Ramotional,” the toaster oven entrepreneur joked. “We have the best times together. So many, and you can’t count them.”
“Were you surprised by the news of she and Mario splitting?” Cohen asked.
“After all I’ve been through, nothing surprises me. I mean, life is that way. I don’t really like to talk about it.”
At the RHONYC screening party at Bleecker Street Arts Club on March 11, more of Singer’s cast members opened up to Us Weekly about their thoughts on her divorce after 27 years of marriage.
“Oh God, Ramoney. She is going through a hard time,” Heather Thomson told Us. “But she is really strong and she’s got her feet on the ground, and she’s got a lot of life experience. She and Mario have been together for a really long time, and I’m sure they’re going to figure out what’s right for them.”
As shown on the RHONYC Season 6 premiere, Singer, 56, has been working on patching up her friendship with Aviva Drescher following their epic fight in St. Barts. Now, Drescher told Us they’ve officially “made up,” and she fully supports Singer.
“I think Ramona is tremendous and strong and amazing,” Drescher said. “She’s amazing. She doesn’t need my advice she’s got it together. She’s amazing.”
‘Real Housewives of New York’ Cast Describes ‘Obnoxious,’ ‘Addictive’ Season 6
Maggie Furlong, Yahoo.com
“The Real Housewives of New York” is finally back after almost a year-and-a-half on hiatus, and there’s plenty to catch up on (Season 6 premieres Tues., March 11 at 9 p.m. on Bravo).
First is the replacement of original housewive LuAnn “The Countess” de Lesseps, also known as the auto-tuned voice behind “Money Can’t Buy You Class.” (Elegance is learned, my friends.) LuAnn will only be a recurring castmember now; newcomer Kristen Taekman, a former model and wife and mom to two young children, will be stepping in to take her place. And then there’s the matter of the last remaining original New York housewive Ramona Singer and her nasty public divorce from husband Mario.
You can believe the tabloids all you want, but Yahoo TV got teases about the new season straight from the ladies themselves… well, at least most of them. Ramona, Kristen, Heather Thomson, and Sonja Morgan all gave us three words to best describe this season and why.
Sadly, truth-tellers Carole Radziwill and Aviva Drescher (whose prosthetic leg gets quite a stand-out moment in the season’s teaser trailer, below) did not chime in. Is there something these ladies are sugar-coating that Carole and Aviva refuse to lie about? Or have the battle lines already clearly been drawn? We’ll find out.
Give us three words to describe Season 6…
“Electric: Such energy going on between all of us. It could blow a fuse. Captivating: We do so many great things and share such great moments and events. Of course let’s not forget the craziness of all the different disagreements we have with each other. And addictive: This season is going to be one of our best seasons ever and the audience will not be able to get enough of us.”
“Laughter: It heals you from the inside out and brings almost everyone together. Conflict: It is sometimes unavoidable. You must stand up for what you believe in. You must demand truth. And eye opening: Just when I think I have seen it all, someone acts in a way that opens my eyes to a new possibility or a new reality.”
“Shake: lots of shaking in our boots! We also got to dance a lot and let loose. Rattle: A lot of cages were rattled and feathers were fluffed. And roll: You just have to roll with the punches. Literally.”
“180 Degrees: This season is a turnaround for the new girls. Obnoxious: Some of the comments are really out of line! And hilarious: New Yorkers are the funniest!”
“The Real Housewives of New York” Season 6 premieres Tues., March 11 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
What Your Favorite Real Housewives Of New York City Cast Member Says About You!
Geeeeet ready, Bravoholics!!!
The Real Housewives of New York City are back on air TONIGHT!!!
We know you’ve probably been going through some major withdrawals since it’s been over a year since the Big Apple ball busters have been on your boob tube. But fear not, they’re coming back with a bang!
And we’re all set to get you ready for the big premiere of season 6!
We bet you’ve already got your fave housewife picked out, but we bet you don’t know what your choice means about YOU!
Well, wonder no more! Ch-ch-check out what your #1 wild lady says about you…AFTER THE JUMP!!!
Ramona “Pinot Grigio” Singer: You’re a wild one! You not only get the party started, you stay to make sure the party ends with a bang! Whether that means pouring the Pinot Grigio or turtle-timing, you WILL do it! But when you’re not dancing in your Louboutins, you’re busy as a bee. From business to family, you’re involved in it all. But we must say, you tend to be a bit of a worrier at times although most can’t tell because you’ve always got a smile on your face. Let those walls down and feel free to show a little of your emotional side from time to time, not just when you’ve had a few glasses of your fab vino.
Sonja Morgan: You put the a** in class…literally! OK, so you might not always have your knickers on, but you do always have your party pants on! Unfortunately, sometimes your party pants get in the way of more important issues in your life. You really should take financial and business matters as seriously as you do your costume parties. It’s time to embrace your independent woman ways and support yourself. Perhaps you could start a toaster oven line??
Aviva Drescher: You’ve got a leg up on the competition! LOLz…sorry, we had to! After all, a lady like you can handle the jokes! And that means you’ve got a good sense of humor about the hard times. Another thing you have? A lot of phobias. But it’s totally cool, they all stem from somewhere legit. And while it might be time to try to confront your issues, maybe that should be all you confront because you do have a tendency to get all wound up and do a little name-calling (white trash, perhaps??) when angered.
Carole Radziwill: You’re cool. Like cooler than anyone else could ever be. You’re the kind of person who would do things like date rockstars without commitment and get George freakin’ Clooney in the sack! You’re also smart, hardworking, and successful in your own right. In fact, you really kind of don’t fit in with your cray cray group of friends. But then again, every group needs a voice of reason…and a princess, which you totally are even if you don’t call yourself one!
Heather Thomson: Holla!! You are Miz Charisma! You can walk into any party anywhere and be able to talk to anybody. It’s likely you can attribute that to your vast work experience you’ve built over the years. But your real dream? Starting your own business and putting that knowledge to good use! When it comes to the dramz, you’re not really a fan (you prefer chatting and smiling from ear to ear with your girls), but you’re ready to jump in if someone starts with you. After all, girl, you’ve got street cred like nobody’s business!
Kristen Taekman: While you’re a pretty, tall blonde…unfortunately a lot of your identity is based off that. At least for now. In fact, you’re even well-aware that you’re not the sharpest tool in the shed. We wish there were more to say about you…but…we guess we’ll just leave it at you’re like really pretty. So you agree? You think you’re really pretty?
Countess LuAnn de Lesseps: Awwww. You were once a legend. You were once the lady everyone went to for lessons in manners and etiquette. And now??? You’re basically on the sidelines. Some might blame your declining popularity on your greed for more money, but others might blame it on your confusing antics of jumping around from business to business. Are you an author? Musician? Sommelier? It’s been a downward spiral for you…but we won’t count you out of the game yet! After all, you’re royalty! Right??
